Is Showit good for SEO? And does it compare to other website builders?

The Role of Website Builders in SEO:

All website builders, including Showit, provide built-in areas for technical SEO. They offer features like meta tags, sitemaps, customizable URLs, image alt tags, and more. These features ensure that search engines can crawl and index your website effectively. Therefore, in terms of technical SEO, Showit can be considered good. But so can other website builders.

But the most important thing to remember is: keyword research takes precedence over the choice of website builder when it comes to SEO.

Regardless of how well-optimized your website is, if you are not targeting the right keywords, your efforts just won’t get the results you want.

Is Showit Good for SEO?

Here’s what you came here for. So let’s break down just how easy or hard Showit makes it to have quality, helpful SEO-optimized content on your website.

Showit, like other website builders, comes equipped with all of the technical SEO bells and whistles you need. So basically those things that ensure your website gets noticed by search engines, like Google. It includes all the things mentioned above like meta tags, sitemaps, the whole nine yards – Showit’s got it. As do all website builders. They all have these things because they all know it’s needed and necessary to survive as a website builder.

But what makes Showit different, in my opinion at least, is how easy it is to add or edit these SEO functions. Showit offers an entire library of SEO help to give you a better idea of what each SEO term means, how it should be used, and where to find it when editing your website.

How do I increase SEO for Showit?

Again, is Showit good for SEO? Yes! But so are other website builders. They all offer areas for you to easily update your SEO. Some make it easier on you than others. I do think Showit does well here.

But while all website builders offer the necessary technical foundation for SEO, the key to effective optimization lies in keyword research. Keyword research involves identifying the search terms and phrases that your target audience is using to find products, services, or information related to your website. This step is essential regardless of the website builder you choose.

6 Step Showit SEO Checklist for a website that gets found.

Showit SEO Checklist

Keyword research can be broken down in an easy-to-digest, logical manner. And this is the Showit SEO checklist that I would take if I were starting over myself:

  1. Discover your target audience’s search habits and needs. Look for search intent, where they search, what types of questions they tend to ask. What they find to be most helpful.
  2. Arm yourself with keyword tools like Google Keyword Planner, Rank Math (best for business blogs or bloggers), Keywords Everywhere, and KeySearch.
  3. Prioritize long-tail keywords that have lower competition and higher conversion potential. Especially if you’re a newer website or not seeing great results yet. Long-tail keywords will help you to get more traffic and build your DA (domain authority) with Google. DA is a number between 1-100 and it’s how well Google sees your site as helpful to it’s researchers. They’re a search engine trying to help their searchers in the best way possible. It makes sense that they only want to show websites that are helpful, actually created by humans, and truthful. Not that made up or robot-sounding AI content.
  4. As your domain authority grows, you can start creating more of a mix of short-tail and long-tail keywords.
  5. Analyze keyword metrics such as search volume, trends, competition, and relevance to filter the most effective keywords. You want a good amount of people searching for your keyword terms monthly, with a trend in the upward direction if possible, and lower competition, relevant keyword terms and phrases.
  6. Strategically place those chosen keywords where they matter most on your website. Places like your headings, subheadings, paragraph text, meta descriptions, meta titles, and your links.

Does Showit have analytics?

While Showit doesn’t offer analytics for your website, you can easily add Google Analytics and Google Search Console to your Showit website. Showit makes it easy to add both to your website. I’ll walk you through how to add both Google Analytics and Google Search Console to your Showit website below.

You can also visit Showit’s tutorials for step-by-step directions for both analytics options as well. I do highly recommend using both for your website no matter what website builder you choose. And make sure you attach your Google Analytics and Google Search Console accounts for even better data.

How to Add Google Analytics to Showit

First, you have to already have a Google Analytics account to add it to Showit. If you don’t have one already, sign up here: Get Google Analytics.

Once you have an account and are logged in:

  3. Your Measurement ID beginning with G- will appear in the top right corner. You can copy that ID to add it into Showit.
  4. Login to Showit. In the top left, click Site.
  5. Then click Site Settings.
  6. The next popup with show you your Site Info, Blog, Third Party, Social. You want to click on the tab labeled Third Party. It’s across the top and will be grayed out until you click on it.
  7. Then you simply paste your Google code (G-YouCode). And click save.
  8. Then Publish your site. The analytics won’t be able to start tracking until you hit publish on your site.

Note: You can also choose to not include the Google code on your blog templates. This is helpful if you have a separate blog plugin that adds the analytics code to your blog posts/pages.

Showit Website Templates

Choosing the best Showit website template for your online business is actually easier than you think. But, it can still be tricky to figure out. Because many people try to look for a template that looks like their brand at first glance. Don’t do this!

You can edit the colors and fonts with a few quick clicks inside Showit. It literally takes seconds to update the colors and fonts (AKA your branding) for any Showit website template that you choose.

Instead, look at the overall layout. Does it fit what you like? The style you’re going for? Is it cluttered and charming? Is it spacious, open, and modern-looking?

Does the website template include pages that you know you need? If you’re a podcaster, does it include a podcast page, so you don’t have to purchase an add on? If you’re a blog, does it include a blog design that works with WordPress? Hint: most designers that are truly worth it will include a blog design to go with your website. This is a great idea, even if you don’t intend to blog right away. Blogs are great for SEO and it helps you have what you need down the road without a huge website redo.

So skip the colors and fonts. Don’t look at the surface-level of the website template, but instead look at the underlying build. What can the template do for you? Does it meet your needs now and in the future?

Does it look and feel like your brand based on the overall structure and layout of the page? Does it do so looking beyond the easy-to-change colors and fonts, images, and text? You can update all of those very quickly and easily.

How to Get Started with a Showit Website

If you’re ready to try Showit for yourself, here’s what I recommend to get started.

Use my link to save money and get 30 days free with Showit (or at least use someone’s affiliate link to save some money).

Then, download a free Showit template from their site. They have tons of options for free website templates, and they’re very well-designed for free templates. Try it for a few days and make sure you like it.

That way if you don’t like Showit, you aren’t out any money. I really think you’ll enjoy it though! It’s so easy to update your text on any Showit website template, add your own images, and add links.

If you’re thinking this is working, then try downloading a different Showit template. One you pay for and has all of the options you need, like I mentioned in the Showit Website Template section above.

You could set up a website in just a few days, even if you aren’t a website professional. And at a fraction of the cost of a professionally-built website. It’s the easiest, most cost-effective solution for online business owners.

My Showit website template recommendations are Tonic Site Shop and With Grace and Gold.

Is Showit easy to use?

So we’ve covered the fact that all website builders offer the necessary technical SEO features. So to answer the question, “Is Showit good for SEO?” We know the answer is yes.

But we also now know that the effectiveness of your SEO efforts relies heavily on conducting the best keyword research. Choosing the right keywords and utilizing them strategically across your website will have a more significant impact on your search engine rankings than the website builder of your choice.

But is Showit easy to use? A resounding Y-E-S!

  • It’s SEO setup is so easy to use
  • Showit offers SEO tutuorials and videos to help you learn SEO best practices and where to input your SEO settings on your Showit website.
  • Showit also offers a WordPress blog as an add on option. This gives you better access to the superiority of a WordPress blog without the headache of your entire site being a WordPress site that can become overwhelming to keep up with, make changes to it, and learn how not to break it (usually learning this the hard way).

But at the end of the day, it’s important to remember that keyword research and understanding SEO is the key to a successful website and online business.
