Think about the last time you looked something up on your phone. Chances are, you had a problem that needed solved. You weren’t sure how to do something, so you researched.

By providing quality, helpful content, you’re giving your prospects and customers a way to solve their problem right when it arises. They don’t have to think about it. They just want to find out the solution to their problem. And once they do, they’ll know you exist.

They may even come back to you to for more. And that is how organic content marketing helps bring your business to the forefront. It helps position you as the expert in your area. It helps position your products or services as THE solution, not just A solution.

Educational Content Marketing

Educating your audience is one of the best ways to build trust. That’s why it’s at the top of my Content Creation 101 list.

When someone reads your content, they should not only feel like they’re being taught something but also feel like you get them. You understand their pain or frustration. They can relate to you. Once you get that connection, it’ll be easier to get sales.

It’s that human connection and instant resonance with what you are selling and what they need.

People just want to feel understood. They want to know you’re listening to them,. And that you’re not just picturing dollar signs every time you connect with them.

No matter what type of product you’re selling, online services, digital courses, or digital products, they’ll feel much more comfortable buying from you. Because they know you care about their needs.

Get to know your audience better, learn how to phrase profile your ideal buyers, get better keywords for your SEO efforts, and more. Everything inside your Market Research Guide & Workbook.

Create Content That Entertains Your Audience

You may think that entertaining content is less valuable than educational content, but this isn’t true. People love stories. They love hearing other people’s experiences. They love learning new things.

Think about all the times you’ve learned something new while watching TV or browsing Facebook. It’s almost impossible to stop yourself from clicking on another link or endlessly scrolling.

You might say, “But I’m not a comedian! How am I supposed to be funny or witty?” Well, there’s no rule saying you have to be funny to entertain. There’s plenty of entertaining influencers who don’t use a lot of humor in their content, yet it’s still very entertaining.

For example, using images or video can help keep your content entertaining. You can even create videos that don’t show your face. Get on the TikTok app and look up #lazytiktok. You’ll find all kinds of ideas for creating TikToks without showing your face or using a simple image with words over it.

Find what works for you by researching the social platforms that you want to be on. The best way to market your business on social is to be a consumer first. Try it, and I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Inspire Through Storytelling

Inspiration is one of the biggest drivers of change. Whether you realize it or not, inspiration plays a huge role in your life. These moments can be small things like more likes than usual on a post or big events like selling out a live workshop or paid course. Whatever it may be, inspiration is powerful.

The key is to make sure that whatever you’re sharing with your audience is inspiring them to take ACTION. One of the best ways to inspire your audience is through storytelling.

Storytelling is an incredibly effective way to communicate. Stories are relatable. We all have our own personal story. Our ups and downs. We all have our successes and failures.

So don’t be afraid to tell your backstory and give your audience a glimpse into your life. It’ll help them see you as a person behind all the emails and digital products. You’re giving them insight into your journey. It gives them a way to relate to you. They may even see themselves in you. That kind of a connection is huge when growing your online following.

Utilize Different Types of Content

The world of online marketing is always changing. These days, there are many ways to reach people online. So don’t limit yourself to one type of content. Just because some so called “gurus” said the time to get on TikTok is now. Or Threads is the new way to go.

All forms of content work.

The types of content that you should create comes down to three main things:

  1. What type of content does your audience like to consume?
  2. What platforms are they hanging out on online?
  3. What type of content do you love to consume yourself?

If you love to consume certain types of content, chances are you’ll be able to create it easier, faster, and with less burnout from content creation.

And when. you’re just starting out, I highly recommend picking just one type of content. Learn how to create that content in a way that gets engagement and results. And figure out your content creation workflow. How are you going to sustainably create this content?

Then start adding in new types one at a time. And if you stick to just one type, that’s okay too. You don’t have to be everywhere.

And you don’t have to only create content for the platforms that are supposedly on fire.

So consider utilizing different types of content. For example, blogging, infographics, email, case studies, or video. Each format offers unique benefits, and each requires a different strategy to make sure that you’re reaching your audience.

Here are some examples of how you can utilize different types of content:

Blog Posts

Blog posts are great because they allow you to share information in a digestible form. This means that you can easily provide value to readers. According to a study done by TechJury, “Adding a blog to your existing website can increase traffic by as much as 434%.”

Infographics

Infographics are visual graphics quickly showing data. They’re easy to understand and can be used to explain complex concepts quickly. Search Engine Journal created a great article for “How to Create Infographics That Go Viral & Drive Traffic.”

Case Studies

A case study focuses on a specific company, product, or individual. It provides detailed information about a particular product or service.

It’s a really great way to show examples of how your systems and philosophies work. And it shows social proof. It’s pretty much the best testimonial that you can provide.

Branded Content Video

Videos are another great way to connect with your audience. People love watching videos, so this is a great way to increase engagement. According to Hubspot, the amount of online video watched per person, per week as almost doubled since 2018.

You’ll want to ensure your vides are on brand using the same colors, fonts, and overall layout so your brand is easily recognizable.

This will also make it easier and faster to make your videos because you won’t have to make decisions about fonts, colors, and the design layout because you’ll make those decisions once. Then, you’ll continue to make the rest of your videos look the same.

It keeps everything on brand. And it lessens your decision fatigue. And we all know our decision fatigue is at an all time high during motherhood, even without being a mompreneur business owner.

Email Marketing

According to Campaign Monitor, the ROI of email can be as high as 4400%. That’s insane! And that means that for every $1 that you spend, you could potentially make $44 in return. So you’ll net $43 for each dollar you put in.

If you’re ready to try email, I recommend ConverKit. You can get 30 days free of the paid version with all the bells and whistles.

Or start for free for up to 1,000 subscribers. You won’t be able to set up all of the automations, or segment your list based on interests under the free version. But you will be able to start growing your list to get your own system with a 4400% ROI.

Another option is Flodesk. They don’t have as many options for segmenting or categorizing your list, but they do have really easy-to-use email templates. They’re beautiful templates, so if design is your main concern, then Flodesk would be the way to go.

Make It Easy for People to Share Your Content

When you post content online, you want as many people as possible to see it. That means making it easy for people to share, forward, or repost your content. That’s content creation 101 at it’s finest.

The two easiest ways to get people to share your content:

1) Include links in your text

2) Add a call-to-action

A call to action doesn’t have to be a “buy now” button. Sometimes a simple, “reply to this email” or “follow for more,” or “share this with a friend” is a great way to keep your audience engaged and reach more people.

According to Content Marketing Institute, “more than half of marketers say their most significant challenge is production of content that generates quality leads.”

But creating content doesn’t have to be hard or stressful. Once you have a content strategy in place to know what to create, how to create it consistently, and where to post it, you’ll eliminate a lot of your stress. So take it one step at a time, and always remember that everyone starts at zero. Keep going!
